Inspired by an 18th-century English court suit in pink silk satin housed in the Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection, this cushion captures the elegance of stylised embroidered floral motifs. Translated onto an opulent cotton velvet base with a bold heritage pink reverse.

Inspiration
The inspiration comes from a gentleman’s strawberry pink silk satin embroidered court suit from around 1780, comprising a coat, waistcoat and breeches decorated with stylised flowers and foliage.

Tambour embroidery in polychrome silk created delicate trailing flowers and foliage — an exquisite style typical of garments worn at court.
