Cooking on a salt stone is a fun and delicious way to prepare your favourite foods. Simply heat the stone gradually, then cook steak, tuna, prawns, chicken or vegetables directly on its surface.
Features:
- The natural salt gently seasons the food as it cooks, helping to create a beautifully seared outside while keeping the inside tender and full of flavour.
- Make sure the salt stone is completely dry and at room temperature before heating. Any trapped moisture may cause it to crack.
- How to Cook: Place the stone on a cold hob or barbecue, then heat it gradually Low heat for 15 minutes. Medium heat for 15 minutes Followed by Medium-high heat for another 15 minutes
- Slow heating is essential—never place a cold salt stone directly onto high heat. Once hot, carefully add thin pieces of steak, tuna, prawns, chicken or vegetables.
- Use heatproof gloves or tongs, as the stone becomes extremely hot and can remain hot for several hours.
- Let it cool naturally after use; never pour cold water onto a hot stone or place it on a cold surfac
A Himalayan salt cooking stone is designed to last for many uses when cared for correctly. On average, you can expect upto 50 cooking sessions, although many people enjoy even more from a well-maintained stone. Not the stone will slowly become thinner over time and may crumble a little but this does not affect its cooking abilities. To help your salt stone last as long as possible: Heat it slowly and evenly. Allow it to cool naturally after use. Never place a hot stone into water or onto a cold surface. Wipe clean with a damp cloth once completely cool – never soak it. Store it in a dry place between uses.
